Hello and welcome!
I have coached acting for seven years, with the intention of helping individuals build confidence and agency through authentic expression, drawing on a variety of acting techniques to cultivate specificity, clarity and joy in performance.
Having grown up in musical theatre in Northern California, I trained in acting at both UCLA and LAMDA (notable alumni: Benedict Cumberbatch, John Lithgow and Brian Cox). I focused my masters thesis on nervous system regulation in audition environments and bring a wealth of understanding, experience and techniques to support this process.
In addition, I have personally benefited from expert coaching from the likes of Bradley Jaden (Les Misérables/ Wicked), Oliver Brennan (Les Misérables/ Pretty Woman/ Frozen) and Carrie Hennessey (operas: A Streetcar Named Desire/ La Voix Humaine)
My experience is particularly well suited to guiding students through drama school/ university auditions, working with classical text, and acting through song.

Youth LAMDA Exams, Drama, Voice and Dance
Emily is a certified LAMDA Exams tutor and drama teacher, offering both 1:1 and small group sessions. She has experience teaching online, or in person (London only). Whether you are interested in pursuing LAMDA exams, or independent drama/ voice lessons, Emily's mission is to help young people grow confidence and life skills through performance. She does so through playful lessons, guiding students to master performance and public speaking techniques in fun and engaging ways.
Emily is DBS certified and has worked extensively teaching theatre to ages 5-18. Previously, she directed the Training Show program (30 minute musicals for ages 5-9) at El Dorado Musical Theatre, in addition to teaching group voice lessons and vocal direction for ages 6-18.
She currently teaches dance at The Little Dance Academy and drama at Perform in London.
